Be able to develop a product concept, writing a formula in the correct manner, evaluating your product’s sensory characteristics and submitting your product for the appropriate lab tests.
Apply knowledge of how the skin functions, the physiological changes that occur as the skin ages and common characteristics of each skin type to formulate products suited for oily, sensitive, dry, combination and aging skin and to address concerns such as hyperpigmentation.
Select ingredients and cosmetic raw materials appropriate for your formula with confidence, applying your knowledge of the functions, properties and benefits of a wide range of ingredients.

You will be able to formulate and make a range of anhydrous oils, oil-based serums and self-emulsifying oils for the face, bath and body.
The course will help you formulate and make a range of gorgeous anhydrous, preservative-free balms and butters, including whipped body butters, lip balms, facial and body balms and salves, oleogels and cleansing balms.
You’ll be able to formulate and make a range of indulgent soaks, scrubs and polishes just like you would find in a high-end spa.
You will formulate and make a range of refreshing toners, spritzers and mists using delicate hydrosols and botanicals, as well as creating hydrating gels for the face and body with powerful humectants, and formulating face wash and body wash with natural surfactants.
